Ayer measures its carbon footprint

Email|Print| Text size +
January 6, 2008

AYER - The Climate Change Working Group is collecting data that will present a picture of the town's carbon footprint.

The group will provide the information, which includes estimates of gas and electricity use in town, to the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives, an association of governments and organizations that have committed to sustainable development, for use in its Cities for Climate Protection campaign.

After collecting the data, town officials will develop goals to reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases and observe cost-efficient energy practices.
