December 6, 2007

A School Regionalization Planning Board is asking community members to weigh in on the prospect of Ayer, Lunenburg, and Shirley forming a regional school district.

Residents have until tomorrow to fill out a survey, which is available at lunenburgonline.com and at the Lunenburg Public Library. The survey seeks to gauge residents' level of interest in forming a regional district, as well as their desires and concerns about regionalization, said board chairman Milree Keeling.

The board consists of representatives from all three communities. An outside company will complete a report from the findings, and the board will present it to selectmen in the three towns in January, Keeling said.
