Friends, classmates pitch in for severely burned soccer star

Michael Holmstrom, Carrie’s father, joined the Dartmouth High team for a pregame unity circle before their soccer game on Thursday. Carrie was the team’s hard-driving captain.

DARTMOUTH -- When she was 13, Carrie Holmstrom bruised her ribs on a soccer field, diving to stop a player who was charging toward her with the ball. Pulled from the game, she watched her team lose 8-0. But she came back the next game, led the team to the state finals, and was named Most Valuable Player. (Full article: 1146 words)
