A star-studded cast of senior citizens is coming to Boston next month for AARP’s Life@50+ National Event & Expo. If ever there was ever a chance to learn about the aging demographic, this is it.

Half of Fame quarterback Dan Marino and broadcaster James Brown are leading a day of service in Boston on Thursday, May 8, with more than 700 of the event’s attendees. Soledad O’Brien will moderate a discussion between former First Lady Laura Bush and her daughter, Barbara Pierce Bush, followed by a panel featuring New England star athletes, including the Celtics’ Bill Russell, captain of the 1980 American Olympic hockey team Mike Eruzione, former Patriot Steve Grogan, and former Red Sox’s pitcher Luis Tiant.

After the AARP Movies for Grownups Film Festival on the evening of May 9, there is a dance party featuring The Spinners and The Supremes’ Mary Wilson. A session featuring a discussion between Whoopi Goldberg and Jay Leno highlights Saturday’s activities, as well as a game of “Name That Song” with Emilio Estefan.
