Diminutive in stature, Bernie Horton stood out all the more when he arrived at Cornell University in the early 1950s because of his youth. He had graduated from Bronx High School of Science at 16 and headed north to study engineering in Ithaca, N.Y., where he soon found that lack of size mattered. (Full article: 927 words)
