Charles Reynolds, former editor; at 81

LINWOOD, N.J. -- Charles ''Chuck" Reynolds, former editor and publisher of The Press of Atlantic City, died Thursday. He was 81.

A respected newsman and decorated veteran of World War II, he was active in civic causes, professional journalism organizations, and higher education.

He was appointed editor of The Press in 1966. In 1973, he was named vice president of the newspaper's local operating company. He became publisher of The Press in 1975, and remained as editor until 1988. He retired in 1989, but remained active in community and journalistic activities.
