New home
In Dorchester, the Isaac family got the Christmas gift of a lifetime when the city agreed to sell them a three-story, five-bedroom house for $100 and give them $62,000 to help fix it up. On Christmas Day, Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino toured the home with Cheyenne Isaac, 7, who will live in the house with her mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Cheyenne's mother first qualified to buy the home under an affordable housing program and was chosen to buy it out of nearly 80 applicants, after the family was picked from a lottery and met a number of requirements.
