A simple case for impeachment

(CORRECTION: A letter in Thursday's Globe quoted President Bush as saying, just before he invaded Iraq: ''There is no doubt that Saddam Hussein has weapons of mass destruction" (''A simple case for impeachment"). The quotation was actually from Vice President Cheney.)

RALPH NADER and Kevin Zeese lay out a case for impeaching President Bush in ''The 'I' word" (op ed, May 31). While I agree with their analysis, they don't need such a long and complicated presentation. Just watch Bush's televised speech to the country 48 hours before he sent our troops to battle. He said, ''There is no doubt that SaddamHussein has weapons of mass destruction." This was a bald-faced lie.

There was doubt everywhere: in our intelligence and in our allies' intelligence, as they mentioned. George W. Bush lied us into war, and he should be impeached. And that is no lie.
