Romney shouldn't go to California

IT DISTURBS ME that Governor Romney intends to campaign for Arnold Schwarzenegger in the last few days of the California recall. I am concerned that the reputation of our state will be harmed by association with a man who has expressed admiration for Hitler and Kurt Waldheim and has expressed deep contempt for women. I am angry that our governor should feel moved to support a man with no obvious qualifications to govern. That Romney's office should bring up Senator Kennedy's peccadilloes as a justification for supporting Schwarzenegger is garbage ("GOP aide links Kennedy, Schwarzenegger," Page B1, Oct. 3). Kennedy has served us honorably for decades as an advocate for social justice and peace. Schwarzenegger has none of these virtues. I am deeply ashamed of our governor. I hope he reconsiders his trip.
