Flames licking at Lebanon

FOLLOWING a general strike called Tuesday by the Lebanese Shi'ite movement Hezbollah, there were lethal clashes in Beirut and other Lebanese cities this week. Cars were set on fire, and burning tires were strewn across roadways. For Lebanese who recall the 1975-1990 civil war, these were the foreshadowing sights and smells of another civil war.
