ANN ARBOR, Mich.—Bookseller Borders Group on Wednesday said it is introducing a texbook marketplace on its website in an effort to gain market share in that area.

The "Borders Textbook Marketplace," is a partnership with Alibris, an online bookseller.

It will carry 1.4 million titles, including used books, and offer textbooks for college, high school, middle school and elementary school students.

The move is Borders Group's latest change since financier Bennett LeBow invested $25 million in the retailer in May, becoming the company's largest shareholder, chairman and CEO.

Other moves include selling the company's Paperchase stationery unit, cutting jobs launching an electronic bookstore.

Shares fell 4 cents, or 2.8 percent, to $1.37 in afternoon trading.
