MILFORD, Conn.—A Connecticut school superintendent facing sexual assault charges and local school board members have agreed to a tentative deal for him to resign.
Milford Superintendent Harvey Polansky and the town Board of Education reached the agreement Wednesday night. Officials refused to release details of the deal. Board members are scheduled to vote on the agreement on Monday.
Polansky was arrested in January on misdemeanor sexual assault charges alleging he inappropriately touched two female school principals. He has been on paid leave since November.
A termination hearing for Polansky had been scheduled to begin Wednesday. He and the two female principals were expected to testify, but lawyers for Polansky and the school board negotiated a proposed settlement.
