PROVIDENCE, R.I.—News anchor Ann Curry of NBC's "Today" show is the featured speaker at Providence College's commencement ceremonies next month.
Curry will receive an honorary degree and give the commencement address at the May 16th graduation ceremonies. The event takes place at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in downtown Providence.
Gov. Don Carcieri (kuh-CHEHR'-ee), a graduate of Brown University, will also receive an honorary degree together with two Providence College alumni: William Leary, a retired probate judge in Connecticut and Francis Trainor, a professor emeritus of biology at the University of Connecticut.
