Documentary ‘Mitt’ to air on Netflix

Various Hollywood websites are reporting that “Mitt,” a documentary about the former Massachusetts governor’s race for the presidency, will air on Netflix next month after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Netflix acquired exclusive streaming rights to the film, directed by Greg Whiteley, whose previous credits include “Resolved” and “New York Doll,” about New York Dolls bassist Arthur Kane. Whiteley was given unique access to the Romney campaign and to the candidate’s family, beginning in 2006 and spanning Romney’s unsuccessful run for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, and his losing bid in 2012. “Greg Whiteley’s ‘Mitt’ provides viewers a surprising level of access into a fascinating world,” Netflix VP Lisa Nishimura said in a statement.
