At the last minute Monday, Major League Baseball pulled the plug on a planned in-game promotion with Chevrolet, apparently deeming it to be in questionable taste. In the third inning of World Series Game 5, fans at Busch Stadium were supposed to hold up placards forming the words “Silverado Strong,” which is the theme of the ad campaign for Chevy’s 2014 Silverado. But because “Boston Strong” has become a rallying cry since the Marathon bombings, and because “B Strong” is already mowed into the outfield grass at Fenway, MLB decided — just before Monday’s first pitch — that “Silverado Strong” was a weak idea.
