Room to Grow’s Saskia Epstein, the Foundation to Be Named Later’s Paul Epstein, the Shawmut Group’s Peter Flaherty, and Jennifer Mugar Flaherty co-chaired a kickoff celebration last week for the Hope Blooms campaign. Supporters of Hope Blooms and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Suffolk County will plant bulbs on the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway in November so that they’ll bloom in April during National Child Abuse Awareness & Prevention Month. (Each crocus bulb represents a child who was referred to the Advocacy Center during the prior year.) The hosts of the night were former US senator Scott Brown and his wife, Gail Huff. . . . Natalie Cole was the big name at the Price Center’s 23d annual gala held at the Boston Marriott Copley Place over the weekend. Cole sang some new songs and performed “Unforgettable” with a video of her father, Nat King Cole. The Price Center provides support to adults with developmental disabilities. The event raised more than $500,000 for services.
