Adam Roffman is stepping down as program director of the Independent Film Festival Boston. He told us over the holiday weekend that he’s leaving the post to concentrate on “filmmaking opportunities.” “My filmmaking workload is growing to the point that programming the festival is no longer feasible for me,” he said in an e-mail. Roffman (at right with Casey Affleck) helped start the April festival in 2003. He’s also worked as an on-set dresser for a list of local movies, including Ben Affleck’s “Gone Baby Gone” and “The Town,” and David O. Russell’s “American Hustle,” which was filmed around Boston earlier this year. Roffman was also a producer on the documentary “Plimpton! Starring George Plimpton as Himself.” No word on who’ll take over IFFB duties, but Roffman says the festival will make an announcement about the position soon.
