Mayor-elect Martin J. Walsh today unveiled a new website to help Boston residents track his takeover of City Hall — and to apply for jobs working for the first new mayor in a generation.
In an e-mail sent to supporters and reporters, the Savin Hill resident said that residents who share an e-mail address will be given updates on the transition schedule and share their ideas on how to “build a better Boston.’’
And, perhaps most important, the website is also a conduit for those who want to join Walsh on his transition team or work with him at City Hall where hiring has been controlled for the past 20 years by outgoing Mayor Thomas Menino, a Hyde Park resident.
“Submit your resume for consideration for possible employment on the Transition Committee or at City Hall,’’ the e-mail states.
The Web address is Boston14.org. “Visit Boston14.org, the new mayoral transition website, to join our team for a better Boston,’’ the e-mail states.
“Boston begins a new era on January 6th,’’ Walsh wrote in the e-mail. “Together we will write a new chapter in our City’s nearly 400-year history.’’
