A Quincy man who was charged with conspiracy to violate drug law after he allegedly orchestrated large sales of the club drug molly from inside jail to raise his bail money was arraigned this morning and held on $100,000 cash bail, authorities said.
David G. Courage, 24, pleaded not guilty in Dedham District Court, and will return to court in late November.
Courage was allegedly organizing the drug deals over jail phones with his girlfriend, Cory Lyn Wojcuilewicz, 25. He was in the Norfolk County jail awaiting trial on an assault charge.
State troopers conducted surveillance on Wojcuilewicz before she, too, was arrested. She will also be charged in the operation, prosecutors said.
“Sheriff [Michael] Bellotti has security personnel and apparatus working in the jail to detect ongoing criminal activity, and it was through those efforts that this was first detected,” Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said in a statement.
Recent overdoses have heightened concerns about molly, the powder or crystal form of ecstasy, or MDMA.
