A Massachusetts state trooper pulling over a gray Ford van for motor vehicle violations discovered 1,700 Oxycodone pills in the vehicle early Saturday. Trooper Ryan Dolan was commuting home on Route 495 Northbound in Littleton when he stopped the van around 7:40 a.m. Dolan approached the van and found a large bag that contained the pills on the floor near the front passenger seat. A passenger, later identified as Jonathon Rivera, 31, of the Bronx, New York, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to violate the drug law and trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium. He is being held at the State Police Barracks in Concord pending his arraignment Tuesday in Ayer District Court. Approximately $1,438 was found on Rivera and seized as evidence. No further information was immediately available.
