One person died and two others were hospitalized Saturday night after a single-car crash on Route 495 northbound near Exit 13 in Mansfield, State Police said.
Troopers responded at about 6:20 p.m. after witnesses reported that the vehicle had veered from the highway into the breakdown lane and then the tree line, State Police said in a statement.
Witnesses said car occupants had serious injuries and other motorists attempted CPR on one occupant.
One crash victim died after being transported to a nearby hospital with a second victim, who had non-life-threatening injuries, according to the statement.
A medical helicopter transported a third victim to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
State Police did not release the identities of the victims, pending family notification.
