Mother, kids bound during home invasion, robbery

Armed men burst into a Framingham home Sunday, tying up a woman and her three children while the father was forced to open the family’s safe and hand over cash, police said. Five or six suspects stormed the house in the 200 block of Beacon Street just before 9 p.m. Sunday, Framingham police Lieutenant Ron Brandolini said. No one was hurt, said Brandolini, adding that an unknown amount of money was taken. The family’s landlord, who asked not to be identified, said he spoke with his tenants Sunday night. Everyone, including the children, who range from elementary school to high school, were shaken up, he said, but were grateful to have escaped unharmed. The landlord said his tenants noted that the suspects spoke both Spanish and English during the robbery. Brandolini said Sunday that it was unknown if the suspects and victims knew each other. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Framingham Police Department at 508-532-5923.
