Police are investigating a shootout in Holyoke that left two men dead early this morning.
Shortly after 2 a.m., at least two shooters opened fire near Sargeant and Chestnut streets, in the area of Chestnut Park, Holyoke Police Captain Denise Duguay said in an interview today.
Police are withholding the names of the deceased, who were 20 and 25, until family can be notified, Duguay said.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was pronounced dead at Springfield’s Baystate Medical Center, Duguay said.
No further details were immediately available.
Police are interviewing witnesses, Duguay said. No arrests have been made.
