August has seen rain, humidity, and often uncomfortable conditions, but really only on weekdays. Every weekend in August has seen sun, seasonable temperatures, and virtually no rain. This weekend, the last of the month, won’t break that pattern.
Conditions will cool today. Today will be mostly sunny in Massachusetts, with a high near 81, according to the National Weather Service.
“We have seen a few sprinkles early this morning, but no precipitation is expected for the rest of the day,” said William Babcock, weather service meteorologist.
A northwest wind will bring gusts of 14 miles per hour to the Bay State by the afternoon. Dew points will drop into the 50s. Conditions will remain mostly dry overnight.
The weekend will end the month on a high note. Saturday and Sunday will be sunny and dry, and temperatures will hover around 80 degrees, according to the weather service. Humidity will remain agreeable.
“It might be a little warmer on Sunday, but the weekend will see seasonable temperatures,” Babcock said.
Monday should continue the trend of comfortable, dry weather, with temperatures around 84. according to the weather service. Showers and thunderstorms are possible overnight and could continue into Tuesday and Wednesday.
“There is a small chance of precipitation at this point,” Babcock said about the early part of the week. “It might not happen at all, but if it does it won’t be widespread.”
