Marstons Mills man shoots neighbor’s car with shotgun after dispute

A Marstons Mills man is facing gun charges after he was found walking around his neighborhood Sunday morning with a 12 gauge shotgun that he used to fire several gunshots into his neighbor’s vehicle, shattering the windshield, Barnstable Police said.

Around 3:15 a.m. Barnstable Police were called to the Gooseberry Lane neighborhood where they found Dwayne Peters, 31, walking with a shotgun.

Police discovered that a dispute Peters had with his neighbor prompted the shooting, the report said. Peters was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded shotgun on a public way, and disorderly conduct, according to Barnstable Police Sergeant Thomas Twomey.
