Two students at the John D. O’Bryant high school in Roxbury suffer minor injuries when hit by car

Two teenagers were hit by a car this morning outside the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, where both are ninth-grade students, officials said.

Both girls were rushed to area hospitals with that injuries were not considered life-threatening, officials said. One teen was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital and the other to the Boston Medical Center, officials said.

The girls were struck around 8 a.m.

Boston public schools spokesman Matthew Wilder said the two girls were ninth-graders at the O’Bryant. Wilder said in an e-mail that the families of the children have been notified and that school staff are with the children at the hospitals.

Boston police are investigating the incident. The driver stopped after the accident.
