After a chilly night tonight, with temperatures dropping into the 20s, Thursday will be much cooler, with a high of 39.
The sun will again be big and bright, but it won’t be around much after that until late next week, the National Weather Service says.
“We have several systems coming through over the weekend and early next week,” weather service meteorologist Stephanie Dunten said.
Cloud cover will increase during Friday, forecasters said. The chance for showers begins Friday night, Dunten said.
Most communities will see on and off rain, rather than heavy downpours, she said. Clouds will remain over Massachusetts with little chance for the sun to peek through until late next week.
“It’s just going to be cloudy and rainy, nothing spectactular,” Dunten said.
Temperatures will likely be too warm for any of the precipitation to turn into snow, but Dunten said parts of southern New Hampshire may see a few flakes.
