Multiple accidents along Route 3 in Hingham this morning have caused significant traffic slowdowns, State Police said.
Late this morning, a rollover crash on the southbound side of Route 3 near Exit 15 was caused by an unsecured couch on the back of a vehicle, said Trooper Todd Nolan, a State Police spokesman.
The two people in the vehicle were taken to South Shore Hospital for minor injuries. They may be cited for carrying an unsecured load, Nolan said.
On the northbound side near Exit 15, another crash caused two others to be taken to South Shore Hospital. The cause of the crash was unknown, Nolan said.
Farther up the highway, a disabled motor vehicle as well as a car striking a deer were also reported.
“The Norwell barracks have been very busy,” Nolan said.
The boston.com traffic website shows speeds hovering near 30 miles per hour along most of Route 3, with some spots as slow as 12 miles per hour.
