Massport is warning people traveling to Logan International Airport that parking will be “exceedingly scarce” there this week due to high demand as business travel crests the week before Thanksgiving.
Massport, which runs the airport, says the supply of parking will be “critically low” through Thursday and it’s urging people to take public transportation or Logan Express airport shuttle buses.
“Please consider leaving your car at home during this busy travel period,’’ Edward C. Freni, Massport aviation director, said in a statement. “No one wants to miss a flight because they could not park.”
Officials are encouraging people to consider the taking the Blue Line or Silver Line. The Silver Line from the airport to the South Boston Seaport District and South Station is free.
Massport is also offering reduced parking rates at its Logan Express locations, in Braintree, Framingham, Peabody, and Woburn.
More parking will be available during Thanksgiving week just in time for families traveling for the holidays, officials said in a statement.
