"In 1982, I was working at the snack bar in the Channel Club in Boston," writes Judi Rennie. "One night when I was working this boy kept staring through the glass at the front. I fell for him like a ton of bricks. We dated for about six months or so then, for reasons neither of us can remember, we faded out of each other's lives. Life went on, we both married, I had children, and Joey got his music career off the ground. In the spring of 2001, I got a message on the classmates account I'd set up for my reunion that past fall. The subject line was 'Judi blue eyes is that you?' I knew without reading it who it was from. Over the next few years we exchanged pleasant stories about our lives, marriages, kids and all of the good things you tell an ex. Both of us left out that we were miserable and heading for divorce. My friends and I went out to the Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott. Joey's band was playing. I walked in the door toward the band and caught sight of him, I lost my breath. He looked up and stopped singing, just for a moment, but there was a pause. Later we were talking and updated each other only to find that I'd filed for divorce and he and his wife had split that past November. We've been together ever since. On January 24, 2009, we were at the Red Rock for his birthday show. While he was playing Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On' he stopped and told our story. He does that sometimes... the girls love it... until the end... he dropped to one knee and proposed! .. Oh... I said yes! I lost him once... this time I promise to remember where I put him!
