Your missed connections
I talked to you on the Red Line but I never got your name.
You bought me a beer at a Bruins game; you were the only one in your row wearing a Red Sox cap.
Missed connections happen all of the time, and New York artist Sophie Blackall illustrates the best of them. As Blackall puts it, Every day hundreds of strangers reach out to other strangers on the strength of a glance, a smile or a blue hat. Their messages have the lifespan of a butterfly. I'm trying to pin a few of them down.
Boston.com readers submitted their Boston-area missed connection to Boston.com. Love Letters's Meredith Goldstein posted them online and Blackall will choose her favorite of the bunch for a special illustration. After Blackall signs copies of her books in Brookline on the 15th, well all gather at Finale in Brookline to celebrate.
Anyone can RSVP for the party, and the reading/signing is open to all.
Please note: The entry period for submissions has closed. See event details to the right. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org with Missed Connections in the subject line.
