Which online dating site is right for you?
Another day, another post about online dating. (I mean, it’s 2014 after all. Because technology. Right?)
Lifehacker has put together a handy guide to figuring out which online dating site is right for you, “you” being the masses of singletons in search of...well, it depends.
The online dating world is only slightly less confusing than the regular one. While most individual sites are straightforward in what they want to accomplish, their approaches vary pretty wildly. Before you pick a site, it may be helpful to ask yourself what your dating style is.
Go ahead and call it obvious if you want, but it makes sense: if you're not getting the results you want, maybe it's not you—maybe it's your dating site. So stop beating yourself up about why you haven't met Mr. or Ms. Right already, and move on to greener digital pastures.
Need proof that site-hopping works? A girlfriend of mine who lives in Manhattan—which has arguably the most brutal dating market in the country—joined Tinder after a lackluster tenure on OkCupid. She and her new (hot, smart, successful, adoring) boyfriend are extremely happy together.
