Getting back to the pre-baby me

Happy Monday, kids!

Well, I had quite the weekend: Running dates with new friends, gabbing over coffee, gorgeous weather -- it was lovely.

When I wasn't out enjoying the company of awesome people, I spent time putting away all those winter clothes (I hang on to them as long as I can because this is New England after all, and I'm always freezing).

In the process of doing that, I did a wee bit of spring cleaning by trying on random clothing articles I hadn't worn since before starting this blog just to see if they fit again.

Now, before trying this, be warned: It can be dangerous. How? I was fully prepared to be highly disappointed that things I hoped would fit again wouldn't, so I mentally prepared for that. Not a huge deal if something didn't, considering I feel the best I've ever felt, but still, a slight ding to the 'ole ego nonetheless.

Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised.

GreenDress.jpgOne of my favorite dresses ever is a green and white polka dotted silk number (that's me in the dress a few years ago at left). It also happens to be a dress I wore at my thinnest and is a size 0. Now, as you may know through this blog, after I had my son I was most definitely NOT a size 0 anymore. The dress hung in the back of my closet for a very, very long time. I resigned myself to the fact that I may never get back into it, got hooked on running, got busy with training, and honestly, I forgot about the dress.

Until this weekend.

I don't weigh as little (according to the scale) as I did when I first bought the dress a few years ago, so I wasn't expecting a miracle, however, I decided to try it on anyway.

Holy guacamole, Batman! It fit. Not only did it fit: IT FIT WITH ROOM TO SPARE!
