Whether you watch the Olympics or not, to me, there's something inspiring about the individual athletes. Watching people perform at such a high level, pushing their bodies to the limit and testing their mental strength, is just amazing.
Every time I watch an event, I always wonder how an athlete got to the top of their game. What did they do for training? How long? How much? What does it really take? And then I wonder what someone like me could take away from that information.
It appears the American Council on Exercise wondered the same thing. So, they came up with four exercise programs inspired by some of their favorite Olympic sports.
The ACE also offers up advice on how frequently you should do these workouts to achieve certain goals, as well as how intense and how many reps are recommended.
