The Boston blogger, Tiny Urban Kitchen, is competing against 45 other bloggers in the nationwide contest, Project Food Blog. Written by Jen, an MIT grad, Tiny Urban Kitchen is a little rough and ready, but charming and amusing.

Tiny Urban beat out We are Not Martha, another Boston-area blogger, in the last part of the competition, which is sponsored by Foodbuzz, a San Francisco-based food social networking site. Contestants can win $10,000 and are judged on writing, cooking, and photography.

Watch Jen make her own Chinese noodles here. You can see all the contestants in the video phase of the contest here. Vote here, if you like.

The Recipe Box Project:

If you want to contribute a recipe to The Recipe Box Project, please write it below. Also tell us where you got it (package box, cookbook, mom, friend -- include the name). We're looking for the kinds of dishes that people grew up on, that were served at family suppers, that tell a story, that are typically New England, or that you brought with you from a far away place to New England. We will print one of the recipes in the Food section once a month. To ask any questions, write to Debra Samuels, who is overseeing this project, at To discuss your recipes, click here.
