A few beer-related restaurant tidbits for you this morning:

* The Sea Dog brewpub family is expanding again. The Maine-based chain's third Massachusetts spot, Sea Dog Steak & Ale, opens today in Northborough. The location in Post Road Marketplace (318 Main St.) joins Sea Dog brewpubs in Hull and Woburn. Started in 1993, Sea Dog also has brewpubs in the Maine cities of Bangor, South Portland, and Topsham.

* Somerville's Davis Square is getting another restaurant with a heavy emphasis on craft beer. Five Horses Tavern, with 36 rotating taps and 80 varieties of bottled beer, is scheduled to open Sept. 1. Owner Dylan Walsh and executive chef Aaron Parsons describe the menu as "American comfort food." Five Horses is at 400 Highland Ave.

* Local 149 in South Boston is hosting a five-course beer dinner Monday night at 7. Chef Leah Dubois and Cape Ann Brewing Co brewer Tom Ryan will present a menu featuring local ingredients. The cost is $60 for one person or $99 for two. For more information or reservations, email info@local149.com or call 617-269-0900.
