Steer clear

While the use of wireless devices is the worst distraction behind the wheel - which is why you are prohibited from texting while driving if you’re a federal worker or in the military - it’s not the only one. Chatting with passengers, fiddling with the radio, and smoking are all potential risk factors cited by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. So are eating and drinking.
