>Is there anyone whom you see in your regular party circuit who always impresses you style-wise? I always love my husband’s look. People assume that I dress him, and I never have. There’s always something. He always adds a touch of personality. Whether it’s a turquoise belt thrown on with his tuxedo or some funky acid green socks poking out of his British suit.
>There are two different schools of thought about style. Some believe that it’s something you’re born with, and others think it’s something that you learn. Where do you think yours comes from? I’d love to say that I was born with it, but everything would point to the opposite, which is that I had an incredibly stylish mother. My two aunts are incredibly stylish, and my grandmother was stylish. The women on both sides of my family are arbiters of style, whether they’re decorating their homes, entertaining, or dressing. I feel like I know everything from them. And then maybe the innate part is that I’ve taken it in my own direction.
>You have a 3-year-old. Do you go for more practical kids clothes, or do you enjoy dressing him up? I seem to dress him as a mini version of his dad. I don’t know if that’s because he’s an exact replica of him and I just treat him the same. But he also exhibits that same kind of British-gentleman dandyness that his dad has when it comes to style, and so I tend to dress him that way. When I drop him off at preschool, people will say, “Oh, you’re wearing matching outfits.” This is over and over again, and it’s not on purpose.
