How would you define your style? I love silhouettes of the '50s and early '60s. I watch "Mad Men" and love all the clothes. I love the beautifully tailored look.
Where do you like to shop? Nordstrom for hot-off-the-rack stuff. In Natick, I have a great personal shopper, Loren Munro, who works with me. I like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Target. I don't care where things come from; I'm not a label snob.
Whom do you consider your fashion influences? I have to go back to my mom and dad. They were very chic back in the day. My dad owned an ad agency, and my mom and I had a clothing store in Duxbury when I was in my 20s that was very fashion-forward. It's funny, you never stop to think about where your style comes from. I guess it's how you grew up. It's not a conscious thing.
Your company is a giant in the construction industry, which people might not associate with fashion. How does your sense of style go over there? The majority of my co-workers are men, and some days I get fashion advice. One day I was wearing a satiny green Diane von Furstenberg top. And my co-workers said, "You should wear that at Christmas." And I hadn't thought about that. I just thought it was a lovely top.
