Deanna Chandonnet

Age: 42

Job: Director of contract sales for Montage furniture

Residence: Marblehead

What are your style influences? I come from a French background and came to Montage 10 years ago. The second I hit the Italian soil - I was here for two weeks when the owners took me to Italy - I fell in love with the Italians and was like, 'forget the French.' When I think about what I love, it's almost all Italian, whether it's clothing or food or shoes.

Who are your favorite designers? Cesare Paciotti for shoes, and Dolce & Gabbana for clothing. They're both incredibly feminine and always on the cutting edge on fashion. And they're a little bit funky.

Who are some of the most stylish people out there now? The first person who comes to mind is someone who's here locally - a dear friend and client named Gary Marotta. He doesn't allow me to get too comfortable - he'll say, 'Don't buy the black boots, buy the teal boots with the spiked heel.' He's always pushing me in terms of style. As for celebrities, it would absolutely be Rihanna. I think she has her own look, but then she can be very classic and very feminine. She's very sexy, always on the cutting-edge of couture, and she has the most gorgeous shoes. She has the short-dark-hair thing too, which I relate to.

What are your indispensable pieces of clothing? My black leather pants, my black leather anything, really. Boots, pants, jacket, skirt, anything. You've got to have a black leather something . . . They're simple, elegant, edgy, sleek, sexy. . . all of those things.
