When we admire friends' hand-knit scarves, they whip them up for us in no time. Too bad this strategy doesn't work with sweaters. Guess we'll have to take classes at the Stitch House and learn to create our own. Annissa George's 6-month-old Dorchester shop carries an extensive selection of yarns, pattern books, needles, and accessories. March classes include "How to Knit Cool Stuff Without Quitting" and Crochet 101. The Dorchester resident has 21-month-old triplets and a 3-year-old, all boys - they must keep her in stitches. Yarns range from $4-$78 a skein (the $78 one has 1,000 yards of yarn). Today's hours are noon-8 p.m. Stitch House, 846 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester. 617-265-8013. stitchhousedorchester.com
