America's Test Kitchen

Tons of awesome events come across our desks each week. Make It Boston is how we'll share our favorite ways to get out, get crafty, and make things in and around Boston.

Now that the air is getting cooler (and turning on the oven doesn't result in potential heat stroke), we can't wait to get in the kitchen and cook up something delicious. Here are our favorite events this week that will inspire just that:

America's Test Kitchen Live with Christopher Kimball
Today 10/16, 6 to 8 p.m.
Saunders Theatre
Cambridge, MA
Tickets from $39.75

Get an insider's view of the popular Brookline-based PBS show from founder Christopher Kimball, who will also answer your burning questions during a Q&A session.

James Beard Foundation Demos & Tastings
Saturday 10/19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sur La Table at Copley Place
Boston, MA

Part of the James Beard Foundation's Taste America, there are some fun (and, unlike Friday evening's benefit dinner, free) events going on. Michael Voltaggio will be there, and Joanne Chang is cooking from and signing Flour, Too! starting at 2 p.m.

Crowdfunding Weekend: Launch Your Project
Saturday 10/19, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Grommet
Somerville, MA
Tickets $100 ($75 with student ID)

Need a kick to get your Kickstarter going? Experts will be on hand at this all-day workshop to help you launch your crowdfunding campaign: from developing a plan to shooting the video and everything in between.
