5-minute-diy-cork-stamp-shoestring.jpg Cork crafts are all over Pinterest (even on our DIY Boston board) but this easy 5-minute DIY is our favorite because it doesn't require hoarding wine corks for months and months (who has the time and room for that?). All you need is one to make a super cute, super personalized stamp. So pour yourself some Pinot and save that cork!

Carving simple shapes like hearts and stars work best, but if you have a bit of patience and imagination, you can get intricate, like my version of our Shoestring logo. The shoe & string stamps will be gracing tags at our Thrift Shop Thursday pop-ups, starting tonight!

If you already have a collection of corks, try carving individual letters and some punctuation for kid's crafts or making greeting cards.

What you'll need:
• Wine corks
• Xacto knife
• Pencil
• Design, printed to the size of your cork (optional)

1. Hand draw your shape onto the flat end of your cork. If you are using a more intricate design, reduce your image to fit inside the center of the cork and print out. Use your pencil to cover the reverse of the print out with graphite, and trace onto the flat end of your cork.
2. Cut around your design with a sharp blade, making sure to remove about 2 millimeters of cork surrounding the stamp.
3. Press into an ink pad or paint, and use to decorate.
