The recent snows left a bank high enough for our small dog to walk over the back fence and leave the yard. A neighbor saw him heading toward a busy street. My wife jumped in the car and gave chase, stopping to call his name, Max. Fearing the worst, we called the police and reported him missing. Minutes later, the police called back. Two women had seen Max befuddled in traffic, picked him up, and took him to the station. The officer gave them our address and minutes later, Max arrived home, sitting on the lap of the passenger.

Kid throws like a pro

I took my 2-year-old grandson, Christian, into the yard to teach him how to play catch. I handed him a ball and told him how to throw it. As I stepped away, he looked to the left and then to the right. He shook his head a few times, nodded, and then he threw me the ball. I guess I have him watching too much baseball on TV.
