2009 New England Patriots scouting report

The Patriots added some new faces, subtracted some familiar ones, and got the face of the franchise, quarterback Tom Brady, back entering the 2009 season. New England is a team in transition, especially on defense, where six starters from last year’s unit are gone. After not making the playoffs last season with Brady sidelined with a left knee injury, the goal is a return to the Super Bowl. Title No. 4 has proved elusive for coach Bill Belichick and the Patriots, who have not hoisted the Lombardi Trophy since 2004. New England is counting on all its roster additions and subtractions adding up to another title run.
