The closure of Circuit City highlights the impact a big-box electronics retailer has on Massachusetts’ economy. Directly, about 600 jobs are lost with the closure of 19 stores. Indirectly, the providers of the many goods and services that feed into the retailer will lose significant business. Equally, businesses that depend on their retail traffic lose out.
