If ever there were something that would make me wish away an entire year (or so), this would be it.
“Saturday Night Live” will commemorate 40 hysterical years with a 3-hour live special on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2015, NBC announced on Friday.
Expect some familiar, legendary faces and characters (The Church Lady? Dan Aykroyd? STEFON?!) to appear on “SNL” along with a handful of musical guests. The specific lineup will be “determined in the coming months,” according to the network.
NBC Entertainment’s chairman, Robert Greenblatt, called “Saturday Night Live” an “institution unlike anything else in television history,” in the statement, adding that the show’s “roster includes everyone from the iconic first cast in 1975 to household names ranging from Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Will Ferrell, and Adam Sandler, to Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Jimmy Fallon, and Seth Meyers — to name only a few.”
The list goes on — and on.
