Beach Boys to Join Boston Pops for 4th of July Concert

Update: On July 1, Boston Pops Conductor Keith Lockhart announced that New Kids on the Block musician Joey McIntyre has been added to as a guest, along with Governor Deval Patrick.

Folks at the Boston Pops Fourth of July show on the Esplanade will be feeling “Good Vibrations,” courtesy of rock-pop icons, The Beach Boys.

The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular will also feature Broadway actress and former “Smash” star Megan Hilty, the cast of “Phantom of the Opera” (which opens at the Boston Opera House this week), and the Boston Children’s Chorus, WBZ revealed in an announcement this morning.

The Beach Boys will be led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnson, who will play with Jeffrey Foskett, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill, and Scott Totten.

For the first time in WBZ’s 12 years broadcasting the concert, fans of the Spectacular outside Boston’s city limits will be able to stream video of the entire concert on and If you’re nowhere near a TV that night, the concert can be listened to on WBZ NewsRadio 1030, starting at 7 p.m.
