The first mighty beast of the fourth “Jurassic Park” movie was revealed today. If you’re a dinosaur lover, don’t get too excited. This monster is mechanical, not reptilian.
A picture of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 was posted today to the Jurassic Park 4 Committee’s Facebook page. Unfortunately, for fans of the G63 it’s not much a sneak peak because the vehicle appears strapped to a pallet and covered by a white tarp.
The Mercedes M-Class made an appearance in the last “Jurassic Park” film. The G63 6x6 will make its big screen debut when “Jurassic World” comes out in 2015. The six-wheeled monster will appear alongside Chris Pratt, Judy Greer, Bryce Dallas Howard, and a host of prehistoric co-stars.
So what makes it the right car to take on a T-Rex? According to iMotorTimes, the six-wheeled G63 6x6 has a 544-horsepower 5.5L biturbo V8, weighs over 8,400 pounds, and tears off the beaten path on 37-inch tires.
But unlike the dinosaurs that have delighted moviegoers since the first “Jurassic Park” came out in 1993, there is nothing CGI about the G63 6x6. It’s real and Mercedes-Benz will make between 20 to 30 a year.
But to afford one, you might want to buy stock in a dinosaur-cloning company (no, wait! On second, thought, don’t!). The price of this monster could get as high as $525,000, according to Motor Trend.
