Satellite connector for smartphones The Spot Connect Satellite Communication device allows its user to go above and beyond basic cellphone use. This device links the smartphone to communication satellites, permitting global connection. Its user can update social networking sites, send emails and text messages, and even contact emergency personnel without the obstacles that come along with being in rural, out-of-service areas. The device costs $149 and the service costs $100 per year.
